If you run a car wash or a mobile detailing business and you're still handling bookings over WhatsApp and tracking money in a notebook, at some point you'll go looking for software. Here's what you'll find when you do — including where SAFFI fits and where it doesn't.
This article is written by the SAFFI team. We're saying that upfront because it's the only honest way to read a comparison where one of the products being compared is our own — cards on the table, not an outside review dressed up as neutral. Competitor pricing and features are verified against their official pages; sources are linked at the end.
What a mobile detailing business actually needs
Before comparing tools, it's worth setting the criteria. A car wash or mobile detailing business isn't a generic service business: every job is tied to a specific vehicle, consumes physical products (shampoo, wax, microfiber towels, chemicals), and usually runs on technicians who move between addresses, not an office.
Bookings per vehicle
A visual calendar, not just by client — one client can have 3 cars.
Supplies inventory
Stock control for products consumed per service, with low-stock alerts.
Local invoicing
Issue invoices and track expenses without relying on another tool.
Multi-user with roles
The technician sees their schedule; the owner sees everything. Separate permissions.
Real native language
Not just the translated technician app — the admin panel too.
Pricing that fits the sector's real ticket
So the software doesn't cost more than several services a month.
The three paths most businesses take
1. WhatsApp + notebook or Excel
Works at first, when the owner does everything. It breaks the moment there's more than one technician, or someone forgets to log a payment — which is exactly when the business starts growing and needs control the most.
2. Generic home-service software
Tools like Jobber or Housecall Pro are mature platforms used by thousands of HVAC, plumbing, lawn care, and cleaning businesses across the US. They're solid for what they were built for: managing service visits. The problem is that a "service visit" isn't the same as "detailing a specific vehicle with products that get consumed" — and that shows in the features that are missing.
3. Vertical software for car wash and detailing
Built specifically around the vehicle and the supplies inventory, instead of adapted from a generic "field service" mold. SAFFI falls into this category.

A difference almost nobody mentions: real language, not just the field app
Jobber says it on their own FAQ page: the mobile app is available in Spanish for the field team, with an explicit exception for administrators and account owners. In other words, the technician washing the car can work in Spanish; the business owner — the one reviewing numbers, invoicing, and making decisions — can't.
"The app is available in Spanish for the field team — with an explicit exception for administrators and account owners." — Jobber, FAQ
For a business in Florida, Texas, California, or anywhere in Latin America where the owner operates in Spanish, that's not a minor detail — it's the difference between actually understanding your own dashboard or having to mentally translate it every day.
Why we built SAFFI differently — and what we haven't solved yet
SAFFI exists because the owner of a car wash or mobile detailing business in the Spanish-speaking market didn't have an option built for their real operation: vehicles, consumable supplies, technicians on the move, and a working language that isn't always English.
Tell you we already have hundreds of businesses using SAFFI across 12 countries. That's not true yet. We're in a Founding Members / early-access phase, building the product alongside the first businesses testing it. We'd rather tell you that than inflate a number — which is exactly what we'd ask of any software we were evaluating.
Which one fits you?
Jobber or Housecall Pro may fit better if...
your business isn't just car wash/detailing (you also offer other home services), you operate mainly in English, or you need mature integrations like QuickBooks and large-scale fleet GPS.
SAFFI may fit better if...
your operation is specifically mobile car wash or detailing, you need to track supplies inventory per service, and you or your team work better — or only — in Spanish.
